| The general public and media are invited to a ‘Meet & Greet’ this Friday night to mingle with performers flying in the Cecil Field Airshow 2009. Fearless aerobatic performers from across the country will be available for pictures, questions and autographs. Aviation fans can also register to win a ride on one of the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team's T-6 aircraft (http://www.naat.net/). The ‘Meet & Greet’ is scheduled for this Friday, April 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Buffalo's Southwest Cafe, which is located at 6055 Youngerman Circle at the intersection of Blanding Boulevard and Interstate 295. The Cecil Field Airshow 2009 is turning out to be the biggest airshow in the country, based on the number of scheduled performers. Thirty-five aerobatic performers, more than any other airshow in the U.S., are planning to participate in the event. All 35 world-class performances are scheduled for both days, making this year’s airshow a truly unique event and an experience one cannot expect anywhere else in the country. The Cecil Field Airshow 2009 will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 and Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more event details, visit www.cecilfield.aero. While the Cecil Field Airshow 2009 will be an enormously fun and exciting event, the story of how it came to be is actually both heartbreaking and incredibly generous. Alan Henley, the lead pilot for the AeroShell Team, was tragically paralyzed from the chest down while playing with his children at their home last July. The airshow community’s best performers in the business have rallied to organize and participate in this Cecil Field Airshow 2009 event (all out of their own pockets) to benefit Alan Henley. |
