Jacksonville City Council Lauds JAA’s John Clark
Resolution Recognizes Aviation Authority’s Departing CEO
Jacksonville City Council, at its Tuesday night meeting, overwhelming passed a resolution honoring and commending John D. Clark III for his successful tenure as Executive Director and CEO of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.

The resolution, introduced by City Council Member Denise Lee, honored Clark for his “outstanding contributions to the Jacksonville community … and wishes him the very best of personal and professional success as he takes on a new aviation challenge.”

Clark, who also serves as chairman of the Airports Council International-North America, is taking over as Executive Director and CEO of the Indianapolis Airport Authority in April.

Clark came to Jacksonville 13 years ago as vice president for Aviation for the Jacksonville Port Authority. When Jaxport was split into two authorities in 2001, Clark was named Executive Director and CEO of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.

During his tenure in Jacksonville, the resolution noted, Clark oversaw significant growth and “positive changes in Jacksonville’s airports, including such major events as the incorporation of the Naval Air Station Cecil Field into JAA’s portfolio of thriving commercial airports, the extremely successful performance of the airport system during the week of Super Bowl XXXIX, the successful recovery and improved security of the airport system after the shock of the events of September 11, 2001, and the on-time, on-budget completion of the beautiful and functional Concourse A and C replacement project at Jacksonville International Airport.”

In addition to his professional accomplishments in Jacksonville, the City Council also recognized Clark for active leadership in the community, including serving on the boards of directors of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, the United Way of Northeast Florida, First Tee of North Florida and Guardian Catholic Schools.
