| Jacksonville Aviation Authority Board Chairman Jim McCollum today announced that John D. Clark has accepted an offer as Executive Director and CEO of the Indianapolis Airport Authority effective April 10. Clark has served as Executive Director and CEO of the JAA since it spilt from the Jacksonville Port Authority in 2001. Prior to that, he served as JPA director of aviation for five years. “John has consistently focused on making the JAA system the very best in the world,” McCollum said. “Through his leadership, JAA has made tremendous operational and facility improvements; in spite of the significant changes in the aviation industry and economy.” “John has earned the chance to run a larger airport and Indianapolis is fortunate to get him. We will certainly miss his leadership and vision,” McCollum added. “We wish John and his family the best in the future.” During Clark’s tenure, JAA has accomplished a number of significant achievements, McCollum noted, including: • A widely recognized stellar performance of handling record numbers of air passengers arriving and departing during Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005. • Completing a major terminal redevelopment at Jacksonville International Airport on time and in budget. • Transitioning Cecil Field from a Navy facility to a thriving civilian airport that continues to contribute to Jacksonville’s economy. • Building a financially healthy organization by creating operational efficiencies. In accordance with the Jacksonville Aviation Authority’s business continuity plan, Ernestine Moody-Robinson, Deputy Executive Director/COO, will assume John’s responsibilities until the JAA Board selects a new Executive Director/CEO. |
